Chief is a 6 year old Flame Point Siamese that was abandoned out in the county. He was found by the owner of a barn who lovingly cared for him along with 5 other kitties who were abandoned out there.
The life circumstances of the property owner changed and she needed to sell to move to the city. She couldn’t leave the kitties at the barn, not knowing if the new owners would take care of them as their own as she had. She decided to bring them with her. It quickly became clear that 6 adults was too much in her new much smaller living space. She reached out to Purrfect Haven to find homes for the kitties that would adore them as much as she does.
When Chief came he was quite skinny. After a couple of days, his foster noticed he consistently wasn’t eating very much. He was grumpy and somber but so very sweet. She looked in his mouth and was shocked to discover rotting teeth and swollen, red gums. Chief was brought to the vet and it was determined that he would need dental surgery. He was immediately put on antibiotics for his infection.
Chief’s surgery is expected to cost around $1000, depending on how many teeth need to be pulled. We would greatly appreciate any contribution towards his procedure.

Chief has started eating more soft food thanks to the antibiotics reducing the inflammation and thus, his pain. We’ve already seen an improvement in his behaviour and weight! He’s less skin and bones. His foster has been giving him some extra calories to help his regain the weight he lost and prepare for his surgery today.
Chief’s surgery went great! He ended up only needing his 2 canines removed and a very deep clean. The procedure cost was less than expected – $707. We are hoping to reach our initial fundraising goal of $975 to cover his additional appointments and antibiotics 💜
Chief is back with his foster where he is soaking up lots of love

Chief isn’t keeping down his pain meds or his antibiotics so back to the vet we go.
The vet suspects the medications were too hard on Chief’s stomach. They gave him some long acting antibiotic and pain injections to help him heal. He’s eating again and keeping down his food. He’ll be in tip top shape in no time.
Current total bill: $1001.02

Chief is doing much better. The pain and antibiotic injections did their job! He is still only eating wet food while his mouth heals. Our picky boy only likes Friskies 😂
